General Information on Equipment Refinement
Equipment in Ragnarok Online can be "upgraded" or "refined" by upgrade NPCs located in major towns to enhance their stats and make them more powerful. All equipment has a maximum upgrade level of +10, starting from +0. Items at +0 do not display any prefixes, but once upgraded, the number of upgrade levels will be shown on the equipment—for example, +5 Stunner. Upgrades at higher levels (e.g., +7 to +10) have a lower success rate, requiring specialized materials or items to ensure success or prevent item destruction.
Additionally, players can refine Rough Oridecon and Rough Elunium into single refined Oridecon and Elunium, which are required for upgrading Level 3 and Level 4 weapons, items, and armors, respectively.
Enhanced variants of these minerals, such as Enriched Oridecon and Enriched Elunium, provide higher success rates when upgrading equipment.
🐾 (Enriched Elunium) are special materials that increase the chance of successfully upgrading an item compared to regular ores. These are often used for higher refinement levels to maximize the likelihood of success.
🐾 (HD Elunium) function similarly to Enriched Ores in terms of success rate but offer additional protection to the item. In the event of an upgrade failure, the item will not break. Instead, its refine level will only decrease by one, making HD Ores ideal for preserving valuable equipment during the refinement process.

Reagents and Cost
🐾 To upgrade your equipment, you need to provide a reagent and a specific amount of money (Zeny). The required reagent depends on the weapon level, while armors require the same reagent regardless of their type.
🐾 The amount of Zeny required also differs depending on the weapon's level. Higher-level weapons require more Zeny for each upgrade attempt.

Safety Level
The Safety Level refers to the maximum refinement level that can be reached with a guaranteed success rate (0% chance of failure).
🐾 Equipment upgraded within the Safety Level will always succeed, meaning no risk of failure.
🐾 Upgrades beyond the Safety Level come with a risk of failure, where the equipment will be permanently destroyed if the upgrade fails.
🐾 This destruction includes any cards or enchantments attached to the item.
🐾 Additionally, Zeny and the ore used for the upgrade will not be refunded if the upgrade fails..
Be sure to think carefully before attempting to upgrade your equipment beyond its Safety Level, as the consequences of failure are severe..
