Nidhoggurs Nest

Introduction

  Nidhoggur's Nest is a high-level quest in Ragnarok Online, centered around entering and battling within a deep cave inhabited by the powerful creature, Nidhoggur. The quest revolves around helping restore balance to the world of the nature spirits, which has been disrupted by Nidhoggur's rage and corruption. Long ago, the Yggdrasil Tree served as a source of balance between the various worlds and the spirits that inhabit them. However, Nidhoggur, a monstrous being dwelling beneath the tree, has caused chaos by unleashing its anger. As a brave adventurer, you are called upon to intervene and assist the spirits in restoring peace to their ravaged realm. Throughout the quest, you will interact with the spirits, aid the villagers of Mora, and navigate through traps and dangerous creatures within Nidhoggur's Nest. The ultimate challenge is a fierce battle with Nidhoggur itself, to reestablish harmony in the world.

Walkthrough

🐾 Form a Party: Ensure that your party has at least 2 members. The party leader must then talk to the Yggdrasil Gatekeeper at (nyd_dun02 99, 199) and select the option to "Request Entry."

🐾 Enter the Dungeon: After creating the instance, the leader must speak to the Yggdrasil Gatekeeper again to access the dungeon.

Note 1: A window will appear with important time limits for the dungeon. You can reopen it anytime by pressing Alt+B.
Note 2: You have 2 hours and 30 minutes to finish the quest before the instance closes.

🐾 Meet the Yggdrasil Servant: Proceed to the central area of the main room and locate the Yggdrasil Servant at (213, 277). The party leader must talk to her, select the option “What does that mean?”, and continue speaking until a notification appears.

🐾 Defeat the Guardians: Eliminate 12 monsters called Nidhoggur's Guardians. Defeat them one by one to avoid issues with the kill counter.

Proceed to Floor 2

🐾 Head to the northern part of the room and use the portal to reach the second floor.

Navigating the Maze

🐾 Work your way through a short maze. At the end of the maze, located at (199, 178), you will be teleported to the boss room.
🐾 Once the party leader steps forward, Nidhoggur's Shadow will appear in the center of the room.

Boss Fight Mechanics

🐾 While fighting Nidhoggur's Shadow, every 3 minutes, your entire party will be randomly teleported to one of four side rooms. Each party member will be inflicted with various Status Effects for 30 seconds, which bypass resistances and immunities. In each room, 3 Ryncho and 2 Phylla monsters will spawn. These enemies must be defeated before your party can leave the room.

● Southwest (Red Room): HP reduced by 75%, Bleeding status (icon may not appear).
● Northwest (Blue Room): HP reduced by 50%, Frozen status.
● Southeast (Yellow Room): SP reduced by 50%, Sleep and Chaos status effects.
● Northeast (Green Room): HP reduced by 25% (estimated), SP reduced by 50%, Poison status.

🐾 Note: The monsters may exit the side room before your party does, making them difficult or impossible to defeat, so ensure they are handled quickly.

Defeating the Boss

🐾 After successfully defeating Nidhoggur's Shadow, speak to the nearby NPC to exit the dungeon.
